In the top picture i removed the yellow cast of the light in the water by sliding the yellow saturation slider in lightroom all the way to -100.  This setting is found by going to the HSL tab and then selecting saturation.  Then you have the option of playing with all the colors.  I had never tried using this to get rid of color casts before but it seemed to work.

I used the portrait calibration in lightroom on the top image and vivid calibration on the bottom image.  I think that vivid works well with outdoor pictures while portrait works better if you are shooting indoors.  Hmmm.  Anyway, the calibration settings are in lightroom under the develop module.  They are the last option at the bottom of this module.  Choices include Portrait, Neutral, Standard, Vivid, Landscape and a few others.  They are the first adjustment i make to any of my images.
